You are cordially invited to join Isobel Shaw for a delightful flower walk in the enchanting Jura on Saturday, April 27th.

We will embark on a picturesque journey starting from behind the Dole, traversing through lush summer pastures adorned with a vibrant array of wild daffodils, orchids, gentians, marsh marigolds, scilla, soldanella, buttercups, and other delightful spring blooms.

Let's convene at 10:30 a.m. in the spacious car park at La Givrine, located conveniently about 200 meters past La Givrine railway station when coming from St Cergue. For those opting for the train, a service departs Nyon at 9:22 a.m. and arrives at La Givrine at 10:05 a.m. We'll arrange carpooling for the brief 15-minute drive from La Givrine to the starting point of our walk in France. Additionally, any vehicles not journeying to France will be relocated from the paid car park at La Givrine to free parking further along the road to France.

Come rain or shine, our flower excursion will endure, spanning approximately two leisurely hours along a jeep track and through the fields. Sturdy walking boots/shoes are imperative, and a walking stick is recommended for added support on rough terrain. We'll pace ourselves, taking ample time to admire and photograph the blossoms, covering just a couple of kilometers. Rest assured, those in need of respite can do so within sight of the group, as Isobel, our seasoned guide, will select a suitable trail based on prevailing conditions and the preferences of our participants. If necessary, we can even divide into smaller groups. Following our floral escapade, Isobel will make arrangements for a late lunch at a charming restaurant in France. Remember to bring Euros, as we'll each settle our own tab for food and beverages.
