Housed in the prestigious 18th century Maison Mallet at Cour St-Pierre, the site of the former St Peter's Cloisternext to the Cathedral, the International Museum of the Reformation is a museum dedicated to the history and impact of the Protestant Reformation.

It's the only secular museum devoted to the history of both the Reformation and Protestantism. The museum showcases various aspects of the Reformation, including its key figures like John Calvin and Martin Luther, its theological principles, its impact on society, and its spread across Europe and beyond.

From Calvin to Martin Luther King, from Marie Dentière to Aretha Franklin, from Luther's 95 theses to Dietrich Bonhoeffer's handwritten letters, with Lukas Cranach, Jean Etienne Liotard or Ferdinand Hodler, the permanent exhibition features artifacts, documents, manuscripts, and multimedia displays to provide visitors with a comprehensive understanding of this significant historical movement. Paintings, objects, books, engravings and audiovisual features are available in 12 vibrant rooms. Exhibition highlights include two paintings of Luther by Lucas Cranach, a letter written by Calvin and one by Dietrich Bonhoeffer.

This free tour will be guided by the museum director himself. Whether you are new to Geneva or curious about its cultural specificities, the tour will provide you with an opportunity to revisit its major historical events and gain a deeper understanding of what has shaped people’s life experiences over the past centuries
